Le Celtique
A culinary escape between France and Thailand
Le Celtique is, at its heart, the story of a culinary passion embodied by Bertrand, a warm-hearted Breton who fell head over heels for Thailand and its captivating flavours. Since settling on the island of Phuket in 2000, this devoted food lover has created far more than a simple restaurant — a true sanctuary where France and Thailand meet in a harmony as surprising as it is delicious.
After running their first restaurant together in Kata for eight years, Bertrand and his wife Lek made the bold decision to relocate to Nai Harn, a peaceful and unspoilt neighbourhood well away from the tourist bustle.
It proved to be an inspired choice: loyal guests from Kata, won over by the warm welcome and memorable cooking, thought nothing of crossing the island to find them again.
Today, Le Celtique has become an unmissable gathering place in Nai Harn — a haven of conviviality where every meal turns into a lasting memory.
An atmosphere outside of time
From the very first step inside, Le Celtique transports you into the heart of traditional Thailand. Every element has been chosen with meticulous care, lovingly sourced during trips to Chiang Mai, the artisan capital of northern Thailand.
Tables crafted from antique cart wheels sit alongside solid wood chairs adorned with rice trays, while magnificent statues and authentic wall decorations lend the space an understated elegance. Softly lit aquariums add a soothing, serene touch, making Le Celtique a place where time seems to stand still and warmth meets tranquillity in equal measure.

A culinary journey between two worlds
The menu at Le Celtique reflects its creator perfectly: generous, bold, and utterly sincere. It takes you on a true gastronomic journey, moving gracefully between the exotic, fragrant flavours of Thailand and the great classics of French cuisine — a rare duality, handled with real flair.
The refinement of French gastronomy
Bertrand takes great pride in working with exceptional produce, most of it carefully imported from France, New Zealand, and Australia. Every dish is a declaration of love for French cuisine, prepared with both rigour and passion.
Among the signature dishes that have built Le Celtique’s reputation, you might be tempted by:
- Parmentier de crabe au safran — velvety and delicate
- Duck à l’orange — a classic revisited with masterful touch
- Salted pork knuckles — meltingly tender
- House-smoked salmon — cured in the Breton tradition
- Sole meunière fillet — refined and beautifully executed
- Warm goat’s cheese and lardons salad — a perfect, indulgent starter
For lovers of fine meat, the grilled rib-eye steak, herb-crusted rack of lamb, and hand-cut beef tartare will satisfy even the most discerning palate. Seafood enthusiasts, meanwhile, will delight in the sublime sole fillet with lobster cream sauce, the Cassolette de l’Océan, or the elegant salmon with beurre blanc.
The Breton soul at the heart of Phuket
Comment parler du Celtique sans évoquer ses spécialités bretonnes, véritable signature de la maison ?

No portrait of Le Celtique would be complete without its Breton specialities — the true signature of the house.
Buckwheat galettes, generously filled with ham, egg, cheese, or smoked salmon, sit alongside sweet or flambéed crêpes with fillings ranging from chocolate and jam to mango and Amaretto — a welcome exotic twist that beautifully bridges the two cultures.
Do not leave without trying the duck liver mousse, lovingly made to a house recipe: a little marvel of its own, silky and aromatic, that perfectly showcases Bertrand’s skill and dedication.
For a truly unforgettable experience, book ahead for the legendary cognac-flambéed crayfish in lobster bisque sauce — an exceptional creation prepared to order with 24 hours’ notice, turning any dinner into an absolutely extraordinary occasion.
The authentic flavours of Thailand
Those with a passion for Thai cuisine will be equally well catered for, with a selection of authentic dishes prepared using fresh, flavourful ingredients.
Let yourself be drawn in by the Tom Yam, a bold and aromatic spiced soup; the Khao Pat , an irresistible stir-fried rice; or the Tom Kha Kai , a beautifully comforting coconut chicken soup. Heartier appetites will appreciate the cashew nut chicken stir-fry, a cornerstone of Thai cooking — and a whole host of other specialities await to make your exploration of Thai cuisine as authentic as it is memorable.

Not-to-be-missed culinary highlights
Twice a month on a Wednesday, Le Celtique celebrates French-style conviviality with its unmissable Cochon à la Broche — a festive, generous spit-roast evening that brings together regulars and newcomers alike for a truly special shared experience.
For birthdays and celebrations, Bertrand and his team also prepare made-to-order homemade cakes, crafted with the same care and attention as their finest dishes.

A wine and drinks list to match
To complement every mouthful, Le Celtique offers a carefully curated wine list featuring French, Italian, Argentinian, and Chilean selections to please the most discerning wine lover. Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the choice of Belgian beers, while a range of refreshing cocktails is on hand to round off a perfect evening under the Thai stars.

Whether you’re seeking authentic French cuisine thousands of miles from Paris, a deep dive into the truest Thai flavours, or simply a warm and memorable meal in an enchanting setting, Le Celtique is unlike anywhere else.
